Work Together Anywhere
About the talk
Increase the feeling of togetherness on your remote team by creating a productive and enjoyable virtual workspace.
There is more to a successful remote team than just attending meetings and completing tasks. In order to create a collaborative workplace online, we have to focus on different things to combat the “out of sight, out of mind” mentality, and increase that sense of team.
In this talk we explore how to better collaborate online, and the various tools and techniques for building trust and increasing camaraderie in the virtual workplace.
What we will cover:
- Creating team alignment for high performance. Avoid miscommunications and outline acceptable behaviors for how your team wants to work together.
- Facilitate online meetings like a pro. Learn how to setup and facilitate virtual team meetings to get the most engagement and interaction from your team.
- Working together online. Increase the feeling of togetherness on your remote team by creating a productive and enjoyable virtual workspace.
- Feedback, appreciation, and celebrations. Learn how to give and receive feedback on both small and big things to inspire continuous improvement.
This talk is based upon Lisette Sutherland’s Work Together Anywhere book and the Collaboration Superpowers material. Christiane and Stephen run People Over Process, and are facilitators of Work Together Anywhere. Longer form training can be discovered on their website.

About Christiane and Stephen
Christiane is on a mission to create organisations where people thrive. For over 20 years she has worked in corporate environments in teams distributed across the world implementing complex technology and processes. In this time she noticed one of the key factors why people and work thrived, is how well everyone related and communicated. Having grown up in Germany, Christiane spent time in Ireland and now calling Melbourne, Australia home, and is familiar and comfortable with geographical and time distance between people, whilst maintaining thriving relationships. She spent the last five years becoming a coach, facilitator and trainer and see technology as a great enabler to bring people together on a global scale and creating a sustainable lifestyle for ourselves and our environment.
Stephen has been worked as a coach, a trainer and a delivery, in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Denver, Copenhagen and in Melbourne Australia, where he now calls home. He loves working with people and teams exploring new and old ways to to solve problems and build capabilities. He started off in tech, however he’s comfortable across all aspects of business and enjoys working with CEOs all the way to junior graduates. Stephen’s passion is how to use technology in positive ways to enable a change in the way we work to help our achievements, own mental health, our work life balance and our impact on the planet. He is fully certified across coaching, training and delivery, but more importantly has real experience of being a team member and leading all three.

About LAST Anywhere Talks
LAST stands for Lean, Agile and Systems Thinking. It was born out of meetup groups and then a conference, started in Melbourne AU in 2012. Since then, it grew to also be held in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide. 1st Conference (Organisational Agility) and Spark the Change Melbourne (Meaning and Purpose at work and in society) are related conferences.
LAST Anywhere talks and workshops draw subject matter from the full range of topics covered by LAST, 1st and Spark the Change. Delivered online, they aim to provide non-formal learning and valuable interactions, and extend on the value provided by physical events.
All you need is a good internet connection, a webcam, headphones, and a microphone. Also, you will need the focus to be present and make the most of the session.
